Woodbury, Georgia

Lone Oak
Warm Springs

Woodbury's history dates back to 1845. Originally called "Woodberry", the town is one of Meriwether County's oldest cities. Although there is no clear documentation as to why the town changed the spelling of its name, it's thought to be named after Levi Woodbury, a popular New Hampshire statesman.

Home to beautiful Lake Meriwether, Woodbury is known for its vast natural resources. The town landscape offers a unique blend of industrial and agricultural opportunities. Visitors enjoy Woodbury's many beautiful turn of the century homes, especially the home once owned by Fred A. Durand, Sr.; founder of the Durand Company, manufacturers of fruit packing machinery.

Today, Woodbury continues to flourish and grow. The city has recently built a new sports complex providing a wide variety of recreational enjoyment for its residents of all ages.
